Ornaments instructions

I noticed a couple of you asked so Here is what I did..
I got the square ornaments last season at my Faovrite craft store The Hobby Center in Nampa (it's on Garrity) I took a small sponge paint brush and painted on modge podge coating the whole ornament except a small circle on one side for the face. I then rolled it in Twinklets Diamond Dust I also got that at the Hobby center. It's differant then glitter becasue it looks more like chunky broken glass. The face was a little tricky. I couldn't find beads that were flat on one side so I went to Hobby Lobby here, and I found a sheet of self adhehive crystals It's call "say it in Crystals" It has all sorts of sizes of crystals this particular sheet was swirls. It's just a scrapbooking embelishment (let me know if you want more infor about them and I will send a picture) Then for the nose. I thought "orange glitter" but I couldn't even find any of that so I took Stampin Up's Dazzling diamonds glitter and the only orange re-inker and made my own orange glitter. I took a tooth pick and dipped it in modge podge and "drew" the nose then put the orange glitter on for the nose. The just added the red ribbon. It sounds harder then it really is and only took a few min to make 4.
Enjoy!!!

My 2008 Jacobsen Family Ornament

I make a family ornament every Christmas season. This is the one I did this year. I'm just in LOVE with the way it turned out. Sometimes I get annoyed though. I only make 1 ornament (well 1 design but 1 for each member) but as I shop around getting the stuff I get so many ideas and it it so hard to choose. Then I say well I'll do this one this year and that one next year but then the same thing happens next year lol.

Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love decorating my house and counting my blessings and celabrating the season. This year has been really hard for me since we don't have our own space. We did go to the storage unit and I got a few ornaments and a small tree that I have and we decorated it and put it on the dresser. But at least I can still count my blessings and celabrate the season for what it truly is.

Pregnancy update.

Well if I'm counting right I'm about 30 weeks now. I'm HUGE! I asked Chad yesterday if I got this big with the other boys and he said I wasn't this big until I was about to deliver. I'm still planing on delivering in Idaho. I'm driving up probably on the 10th or maybe the 11th. So far I feel pretty good. I've noticed I get really tired ever few days but I think I've assoiated that with the baby growing. Since he's sitting so low my hips have kind of been sore but that's usually first thing in the morning. Once I get up and moving I seem to be fine. Same with my pelvis. if you remember with Corbyn from the time I was about 3 mo along I couldn't walk. Chad would push me in a wheel chair. This time it has only been sore for about a week and again it's only over night and first thing in the morning. We still don't have a name. We have 1 in mind but can't find a good middle to go with it so I'm still waiting for some suggestions.
That's about it. I feel pretty good. He's moving around quite a bit. and that is always fun to see.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORI!

I just wanted to wish Lori happy birthday today.

Something to think about.....

Who is your real friend? This really works...!

If you don't believe it, just try this experiment:

Put your dog and your spouse in the trunk of the car for an hour.

When you open the trunk, who is really happy to see you??

Getting my thoughts

Ok, This move as been really hard. I've had a lot of people asking me to update my blog but I have not been able to gather my thoughts about the move. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet and I don't think I would be able to talk about it just yet. So for now please be patient with me and I will post a few things about it in the future. For now here is a picutre of the Moving truck that Walmart sent. They really went all out to get Chad down here. The movers were super nice.

Pregnancy update

Everything is going really well with the pregnancy. I have not been sick at all. As most of you remember (it wasn't that long ago) I was SOOOO sick with Corbyn. I was sick for the whole 9 months. This one has been a breeze. I'm 24 weeks (I think) so I'm over 1/2 way done YEA!! We found out last week that it is indeed another Boy! I've been told that I'm going to have my own football team lol. Chad and I were indeed disappointed that it wasn't a girl everyone was so convinced that it was. This baby is sitting WAY lower then the 1st 2 boys. We found a WONDERFUL place to deliver. We're going to The Baby Place (it's blue because it's a link please visit their site) our experiences with hospitals so far have been nothing but awful so we're doing this. You're probably wondering how we're going to deliver here if we're living in CO...Well the Boys and I are coming back a few weeks before my due date. and will stay with family and friends here. and then When I go into labor Chad will hop a plane and hope he makes it. The decision was not taken lightly. My due date is Jan 26th so I will be back around mid Jan.
Anyway, we are again on the hunt for a Boy name that starts with C and a Boy middle name that starts with E so if you have any suggestions please feel free to leave a comment :)

2 More weeks.

I havn't really announced this on my blog yet but most everyone knows anyway so it's not "new" news. Anyway Chad's last day of work here is next friday 1 week from today. We have finally got the moving truck scheduled. We load the truck here on the 17th and we unload the truck in CO on the 19th. So I have 2 more weeks left in here. And that is a LOT more time then what we origanlly though lol. We were supposed to be gone last Saturday. It's all still a bit overwhelming but I'm trying not to let it hit me until after we're gone. It's going to be so hard to sell our house. We've been here for so long. But I'm trying to remain positive so it doesn't take away from how happy Chad is right now. But this is defently a chapter in our lives that we just need to close the book and walk away and start over. we're really hoping that with this move we will be able to get ourselves out of a mess that we've put ourselves in.

Wii Time.

It's so cute when Carsyn gets to play the Wii after his chores are finished. He sits on a little cube that we have. Well Corbyn likes to get in on the fun and he drags his own cube over and gets his own Wii wheel and plays along with Carsyn. It's so cute.

So Stinkin Cute!

Chads birthday was on Thursday so we had a backyard bbq and birthday cake for desert. Well Corbyn LOVED the cake. It was so fun to watch him eat it.

My Week Out of Town

OK, so I mentioned that I would tell you about my being out of town for a week. I'm not sure it qualifies as a vacation though. Every year the YMCA in Boise holds a Bike tour called "Ride Idaho" They ask our Ham radio club the VOI to help with communications during the 450 mile ride. basically we drive with the riders everyday and if something goes wrong such as flat tires, wrecks, fatigue, etc. they aren't far from help. They ride an average of 60 miles a day. But that doesn't mean I only had to drive 60 miles a day, that would be too easy. Because we have to drive up and down the course until all the riders make it to camp. one day they had to ride 80 miles but I drove 230 I was so tired. The original plan was Chad wanted to go, however since it was his week vacation from work he didn't want to spend it away from the family so he wouldn't go unless I did, well in order for me to get the free hotel room and free meals, I had to also contribute. So Chad and I both drove out to Idaho falls Chad in his truck and me in my car. We both worked hard. What about the boys you ask?? oh yes they were there! I thought for sure it would be just awful trying to take the boys in the car for a whole week. But they did really well, better then I expected. They were both well behaved and all of the riders and YMCA staff were impressed with how they were.
The problems. Yes of course every trip has to have problems. On i think about the 3rd or 4th day, my car started being weird and with in 20 min it died! We figured out it was my alternator witch makes me super upset because we just replaced that last year. We were out side Alpine WY and we had to drive into Jackson WY to get the part. So Chad and my dad (thanks dad) stayed up super later and fixed it in the hotel parking lot. And also that day my tire got a slow leak and we had to air it up everyday. But then the night we stayed in Lava Hot springs we woke up to a complete flat tire. SO we put the spare on and did the ride and when we got to Pocatello we got it repaired. But the hardest part of the whole trip was we couldn't get to the hotel until after 7pm and by the time we got to bed around 9 we had to get up at 5 or 6. I know to some people that seems like enough sleep but me and the boys aren't use to it. the boys' bed time is 8pm but they sleep until 8am. and me I got to bed around 10pm and get up at 8am. So it was a really hard adjustment for the week and it made us all tired. I felt so bad because every time we woke the boys up to get them dressed they just cried because they needed to sleep longer.
So anyway, it wasn't 100% awful but it wasn't my ideal vacation. Everyone keeps asking if I'm going next year but we will have to see, I will have the new baby and not sure I want to do that with that small of one. We'll have to see.

Better Pics of Corbyns Finger

Corbyn's Finger

So, Yesterday Corbyns and I were out side doing yard work. We sat on the front porch to take a break . Well Corbyn decided to move the chair away from the house and then stand up in it backwords. Of course it tips over smashing his finger between the concrete and the metal top of the chair. At first I wasn't sure where the blood was coming from because it looked like he face planted so I was look around his head. But I got him in the bathroom and got a wash cloth and realized it was his finger. When I wiped the blood off the whole tip of his finger peeled back. I thought for sure he needed stichtes. So I started makeing calls. My friend (thanks Lorinda) took me to the ER where Chad met me. They did an xray to make sure none of the fingers were broken witch they weren't. But then they told us that they couldn't stitch it becasue his fingers are so small there wasn't enough meat between the flaps to hold it. The Dr left it up to us saying he could try but since he didn't think it would hold he didn't want to add more trauma to Corbyn. So we agreed and did not get the stitches we left the ER with a single bandaid. I'm just beating myself up because I took him to the ER to get a bandaid. Anyway This picture was taken this morning 24 hours after the accident its looks so gross. He's doing ok with it. He just gets frusterated becasue he can't use his hand (I put gauze over the whole wound instead of just a bandaid) But other then thatit only hurts when I have to change the dressing. He wont let me touch his hand. All of his fingers are bruised. So anyway, It was a pretting emotional day yesterday.
This was the first ER visit involving the boys. Carsyn has had a couple close calls but we never took him. BUT again I thought for SURE they would need to stitch this.

Does anybody want a dog?!

So It's been a frustrating summer! As you know I planted tomato's and Peppers. Shortly after I got the peppers in the ground the dog lay ed on one if the plants and broke it off there was only 1 leaf left. Luckily It has recovered. There was another pepper plant that he did something too (not sure what) I think it's trying to survive but I don't think it will. Then he seemed to leave them alone for a bit. But then He completely destroyed one of the healthy plants. I was SOOO mad I was beating him so badly that Chad turned off the lawn mower and came and stopped me and sent me in the house to calm down. So then we put him on the chain. After a few weeks of that I started to trust him again and just let him be in the yard. But with in just a day or two he decided to eat all of my green tomato's that we growing good. I beat him again and put him on the chain and that is where he has been ever since. But tonight......ARGH!!!.....We left the house for a few hours. When we got back he had somehow unhooked the chain (and re-hooked it to itself?) and we rushed to check the tomato's and sure enough my 1 remaining tomato from the first round of blooms that was half red was gone. along with all of the tomatoes bigger then the size of a quarter. I'm SOOOOOO mad. I didn't want to go buy stuff for a fence because that would defeat the purpose of growing my own to save money. I'm seriously so mad that my blood is just boiling. I usually let Chad bring the dog in the house in the afternoon because it's hot out side but now that privilege is gone and he can sit out on the chain in the hot sun all day!

What Fruit Are You?

You Are an Apple

You are strong, powerful, and even a bit stubborn at times.

You have enough strength to help those around you in trouble.

You are adventurous and charming. Many people are drawn to you.

You love life, and you enjoy traveling the world. You enjoy fine food, art, and culture.

People have accused you of being a snob, but that's not accurate.

You do enjoy the best things in life. Unlike snobs, you truly appreciate quality... not just pretend to.

Do you Like?

I've been playing around with some back grounds. And while I loved the backgrounds from Pyzam.com I will probably never use them again because when I uploaded that background (with the scratchy sketches) it deleted a bunch of stuff so I had to rebuild my blog..:( Anyway My very good friend Steph told me the site that she uses and this is what I came up with. I really like this back ground. I might still play around with the font colors and link colors but as for now I hope you enjoy seeing something a little different.

This is what I did this weekend.

Chad and I went camping to help do radio communications for the VOI . We were providing communications for the Idaho Rally event. If you go to Chad's blog he has posted some pictures of the rally cars. It was fun to watch the races. It did get kind of long though because once we were in our positions they closed the roads so we had to stay in one spot for HOURS then they would move us to the next race and stay there for HOURS. and those of you with little boys know how fast they get board lol... But it was fun.

Sad but yet Humbled

Today is a sad day but yet in a way I'm humbled. For those of you who know Chad has a Truck a motorcycle and a car for just him. He LOVES his little Honda civic hatch back. He has had so much fun making it "his". For the last few months we have been really feeling like we need to work a little harder to pay our debt. Our Prophet has told us time and time again to stay out of debt. Chad and I have pretty much ignored the teachings. We decided that we need to sell the car. I feel so bad because I know how much Chad loved the car. Well today we got it sold and it's going to help SOOO much. I'm so sad for Chad. And Carsyn as well. When he saw the buyers driving away he just cried and cried (Carsyn not Chad).
I'm sad that Chad had to let go of something he enjoyed so much but I'm so humbled to know that we're doing the right things. Hopefully we can continue to do better and continue to sell things that we thought were "needs" I guess since he sold his car I need to go clean out my stamp room to find some things to sell...lol...

There are no words!

Saturday, May 3, 2008

Today was unfortunately a rough day. It kind of started yesterday though. It was Corbyns b-day so we had a fun busy day. We went to the park where we all got sun burned lol. Then a busy filled evening trying to get ready for our Mother Daughter luncheon for the achievement day Girls tomorrow afternoon.
Once I got to bed sleep didn't last long before Corbyn started waking up (I wish he would sleep through the night) I don't know if it was the sun burn or what but he was SUPER hot. I took his temp but it wasn't even over 100. and he was coughing. So anyway after a super rough night with little sleep we began our day at 7:30 starting with Carsyn's soccer game at 9:30 then once that was over we rushed home to change clothes and went to the church to set up and get the luncheon ready. The luncheon went smooth and as planned. but by the time we were finished cleaning up and I picked up Carsyn, Corbyn had had it. It was now 2:30 and his nap couldn't wait any longer. And I was running on fumes myself. I managed to squeeze in a little snooze. but when I woke up I realized just how messy and dirty the house was. so I tried to make it some what presentable this evening but for some reason both boys were just so tired. Corbyn wouldn't let me do much of anything. and they both fought going to bed.
Then I realized around 6:00 that all of the boys Sunday clothes are in the dirty pile..ARGH! So now I have to start laundry so late in the day. I have to do 3 separate loads in order to get everything they will need. I'm going to be up late doing that.
I'm so glad that today is over.
Lately I've just been so stressed, tired, busy, and just overwhelmed. and I think it's all starting to hit me. I try to just get out of bed every morning with a smile and try to be the perfect SAHM (stay at home mom), but every once in a while I just need to tell everyone No I can't and stay in bed all day with the curtains closed.
Sorry to be a whiner but I'm so ready for bed.

LOOK FOR THE GOOD.......

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.

But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. 'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'

The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?'

'That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.'

'For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.

Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.'

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.

You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

Soccer Champ!

I never thought that I would ever be a Soccer Mom! Carsyn had his first ever game today. He did such a good job! He only used his hands once. It was so funny because everytime the other team scored a goal (witch was a lot) he would come running over really upset and say "Mom, I wanted to win" I would tell him that he's doing such a good job and then he would say "but they keep getting it in the goal". It was so funny. Corbyn also got in on the fun. He was yelling from the sidelines just as loud as I was.

Hand Stamped Treats

Carsyn had to take treats to his game today and I hadn't stamped for sooooo long so I decided that I wanted to make them fun..:)
This is what I came up with.

Whats in a name

What Carey Means
You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising. You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.

The gift of sleep

Corbyn is 10 and a half months now and he still doesn't sleep through the night. If he only wakes up twice I consider that a good night sleep (even though between the time I go to bed, him waking up, and Chad getting up so early the most solid uninterrupted sleep I get is 3 hours) But the last 3 nights Corbyn has only woken up once. So I'm trying not to get too excited but I'm really hoping that this continues and he starts sleeping better. And as for naps...ha ha. they are pretty much non existent. He didn't take one yesterday at all. but I at least make him take one a day around noon he will go to sleep for about an hour. You would think that with such little sleep during the day he would be better at night.
Anyway Here's hoping to a good night sleep.

Painting Update

Ok well i got the halls finished and looking at it with the trim I think I still like it. We're going to go ahead and finish. And for some reason (I'm not sure why) my Dad is wanting to put laminent flooring through out my kitchen and living room. I'm not sure why he's insisting on doing it, but he's bringing floor samples down this weeked. Ya' see Chad isn't the only one who spoiles me LOL...:)

Painting Woe's

So I started painting over my green living room today. Well we actually started in the halls and looking at it, I'm not sure the color is going to work like I wanted too. I don't want to go to all of the work to paint the WHOLE living room and then decide, but it's hard to tell in the halls. SO we'll see what happens.

BIG PLANS

I have super big plans this week. It's full of house cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping! If I get caught up on that stuff I'm planning on painting my living room...:) I'm so excited to start that, it's been on my "wish list of things to do" since sometime last year. But we'll see how far I get.

Yeah ME!

As I've shared before I had my wisdom teeth pulled clear back on Jan 2nd. And after all of my complications, and follow up appointments I can now say I've had my last appointment!!! I'm so ready to be done with it. I don't know why I had such a hard time. I've basically had a weekly appointment with my Oral surgeon since Jan 2nd. When he told me that it looked lots better and he didn't think i needed to come back in, I seriously said "Yeah me!"

Pacing Myself?

Pacing myself is a tricky thing. Now that I have a vinyl cutter I have a lot of people asking me when I'm going to get it up and running so I think that, that is going to keep me really busy. I'm excited to think that I might actually be able to make some money at it. But along with my new vinyl cutting "business" I'm still maiking clocks to sell, I still sell scrapbooking supplies through Stampin' Up! (r) Plus I have a new found hobby in Sewing (as you see from the blankets) And it was mentioned that I might be able to sell the blankets. I'm having so much fun with all of this but the problem is, because I have so many projects going, I'm falling behind with house cleaning, grocery shopping, personal stamping, And I still do acheivment day's with the 8-11 year old girls at church...

I think I need to make a schedule!

More Fun Blankets

I just wanted to show you more of the blankets I've done.......

I really like the Bee blanket. However I don't think I could pick a favorite.

The embroidered block ended up matching the pattern really well on this one, I also made a burp rag to match this one.

I also have a burp rag to match the green stipped one.
I hope you like them..... :)

Gideon

The dog SURVIVED!!! LOL . He got his stitches out and that silly cone taken off and he's back to being the annoying dog that I didn't really like in the first place lol. even the scars are minimal.

Slow recovery

Well, on Jan 2nd I got my wisdom teeth pulled out....It was so AWEFULL! I ended up getting dry socket in both of the bottom teeth. And then after about 3 weeks of that, I got a little bit of infection in my upper one. I go back in on Monday and I hope that will be my last appointment. I asked the nurse if the reason I've been haveing so many problems is that I wasn't cleaning good enough but she said that I was actually doing a really good job with the cleaning. The only good thing about the whole expeiriance is that since i couldn't eat anything I lost nearly 10LBS. I've actually lost a lot of weight since I had Corbyn. I back down to my pre-marriage weight.. :-)

Busy Bee's

Wow, It's been a crazy couple of weeks. But I want to show you a little of what my friend Lorinda and I have been up too.

<--------------------The table has been set up for nearly a weeks now and Lorinda has been coming over everyday to sew.

It sure has been a mess at my house but thats what happens when you go to the day after Thanksgiving sale at JoAnn's and the flannel is $0.99 a yard. Be baught so much. But its will be so nice to not have to worry about baby gifts for a while.

The finished products are turning out SOOOO cute. Last year Chad baught me an Embroidery Maching and so on the blankets I'm making I putting a little image in the corners. I think it gives it just a cute little extra. I don't know if you can see but on the pink one I sewed little flowers around the edge. I'm really happy how their turning out.
